Yes, the Institute in Basic Life Principles was very much stitched together from various influences, which broadened its appeal to families from a very wide range of denominational backgrounds - whenever I see the Institute labelled as Fundamentalist, I always think that is a category error that obscures just how widespread and prevalent its ideas became.

Good point. So many of its ideas were considered fringe for so long -- until suddenly they weren't fringe anymore.
