Oh no, I wouldn't call the overall tone assertive. It was more just a habit of taking this or that idea for granted without the reader necessarily understanding how she got there.

I loved Robinson’s sense of delight in God’s goodness and forbearance. The book could just as well been entitled Enjoying Genesis.
